Overview

SoundRoute is a macOS application that routes audio between apps and output devices. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

On-Device Processing

All audio processing happens entirely on your Mac. SoundRoute uses Apple's Core Audio Taps API to route audio between apps and devices. No audio data is ever sent to any server.

Data We Collect

• Account information: If you purchase a license, your email address and license key are stored securely in your macOS Keychain.
• Usage analytics: We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how users interact with our website. This is limited to the website only, not the desktop app.
• Payment information: Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy. We do not store credit card details.
• Update checks: The app periodically contacts our server to check for updates via Sparkle. Only the app version is sent.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Audio content from any application
• Information about which apps you use
• Your audio routing configuration
• Screen content or clipboard data
• Any data from your Mac beyond what is described above

Third-Party Services

• LemonSqueezy: Payment processing and license management
• Sparkle: App update delivery (open-source framework)
• Cloudflare R2: Hosting update files
• Microsoft Clarity: Website analytics only

Your Rights

You may request deletion of any personal data we hold by contacting us. Since most processing is on-device, we typically hold minimal data.
